Ukraine Front Line doesn’t just supply medical goods to the men and women fighting heroically in the east. There are currently two pieces of kit which might mean the difference between life and death for our friends over there: drones (the Mavic 3 in particular) and night vision devices (NVD).
We recently got a request for a PVS-7 night vision goggle (NVG) for a Sergeant in the 5th Separate Assault Brigade. Along with that came a request for logistical support for the procurement of a PVS-14 night vision monocular. The money for the monocular was already there, but funds for the PVS-7 still needed to be raised.
(It is important to note that neither version is subject to ITAR controls.)
UFL was happy to help in both cases. This time, we started a small fundraiser which received heavy support from German NAFO. Our German fairy was a nice lady, A., who goes by @gonesailingnow on Twitter. She’s served as a courier for us several times, and she forwarded the fundraiser to the German fellas.
At this point a big THANK YOU to A. and all the fellas who threw in a few bucks. Together we made it!
The money was raised in almost no time, so Arcaist could take care of the paperwork and A. could pick up both NVDs a couple of days later.
Here are both beauties:
After some testing, both NVDs started their journey to the eastern front. The first stop was Poland, where a courier took them over and brought them into Ukraine.
Both devices are now at the front and serving their users well, helping Ukrainians drive out the invaders and survive the horrors of war.
Once more: A big thank you to all of you who contributed to this unplanned and rather short-handed stunt. You rock!
Slava Ukraini!
Happy to help. Your German fairy.
